Yes, we're a new start up.  Building trees. Doing research. Most importantly? Working with our clients, building relationships, discovering together, teaching, learning, growing. 

 

Having said that, genealogy runs in my veins, passed down through the generations.  I've been doing this for more then thirty years. I got hooked as a child, listening to stories my grandmother and her siblings told, around the kitchen table, sipping coffee, and going on about Tante Lala and how much I resembled her.  My only thought was, who was that and why did I look so much like her? 

 

I have been lucky enough to have had ancestors who pursued the roots of our heritage, passing down their knowledge and stories.  I have old notes from my great-grandfather's brother who (supposedly) traced our Norwegian line back into the 800's, descendants of the mother of the first King of Norway. Incredible right? Unfortunately, he didn't cite his sources. Despite attempts to track down such things I've proved unsuccessful to date.  Best tip:  Always cite your sources!

 

As I got older and entered my teens and young adulthood I started organizing family reunions, interviewing folks, and searching for records.  The desire to know and understand the people from where I came grew more and more.
